INTRODUCING: ELEVATE YOUR APPROACH

An online instructional course for everyone

A proven, systematic method to hitting better approach shots and lowering your scores.

I am proud to offer Elevate Your Approach – my first video-based online instructional course. The course includes 9 lessons, over an hour of lesson content, on-course application and how to practice modules.

Approach shots are the single biggest differentiator between the golfer you are now and the one you want to be. Every video in this course was created and thoughtfully organized to ensure you hit more greens, feel more confident, and lower your scores. This course has something for everybody – whether you’re just getting into the game and you need an organized roadmap to guarantee progress, or you’ve been golfing a long time and have been stuck at your current level for too long.

COURSE OVERVIEW

VIDEO 1: THE 4 ESSENTIALS OF MAKING A BALL GO TO A TARGET

The golf ball only reacts to 4 variables when the club and the ball collide at impact: 1. center face contact, 2. club face angle, 3. swing direction & 4. club head speed.

VIDEO 2: DISPERSION PATTERNS

The importance of dispersion patterns (aka scatter plots) in golf, identifying your own personal dispersion pattern and how to use it to improve your approach game.

VIDEO 3: SELECTING YOUR STOCK SHOT SHAPE

There are 3 types of shots we can hit in golf: a draw, a fade, or straight.  A myth that has percolated the golf culture for many years is that in order to be an elite striker of the golf ball, you need to be able to curve the ball on command. Instead, it is absolutely imperative that you become an expert at hitting one shot shape for the rest of your life.  This lesson details how to select your stock shot shape.

VIDEO 4: SETTING UP FOR SUCCESS

How to build a set up position based on your stock shot shape, including: 1. gripping the club, 2. alignment of the club and body & 3. club/ball position.

VIDEO 5: HOW TO PRACTICE

A detailed look into an effective practice session, including: 1. working on your stock shot shape, 2. random vs. block practice, 3. pre-shot routine & 4. gamification.

VIDEO 6: WEDGE SHOTS

How to get the most out of your wedges and how to find the green on a routine basis.

VIDEO 7: MID-IRONS

Mid-irons are where we can make the most progress towards our next handicap goal.  This lessons details how to properly spend a lot of our practice time with these particular clubs until we feel confident that we can produce our stock shot shape 80% of the time.

VIDEO 8: LONG IRONS

Long irons tend to be the bane of an amateur golfer’s existence. This lesson details how swinging faster is not the answer but rather making better contact with your club face, presenting the face more squarely to the target, and swinging your club in the direction of the target will help you master your long irons.

VIDEO 9: TRANSFERENCE TO THE GOLF COURSE

Analyzing the situation based on where the flag is located and where the greatest threat to your scorecard lies is critical for hitting more greens and lowering your scores. This video walks through specific scenarios on the golf course, identifying the potential hazards, managing expectations, selecting the correct target, going through a proper pre-shot routine.
